Studies on the Pain of Aqua - acupuncture with Angelicae tenuissimae Radix Extract Solution to Mice

Abstract
In order to study the effect of aqua-acupuncture with Angelicae tenuissimae Radix extract solution on the pain induced by acetic acid and hot plate method, the aqua-acupuncture was inserted into the corresponding Loci of the Chung-Wan(CV_(12)) and Chok-Samni(ST_(36)) and a blank locus(non-acupuncture locus at the upper and lower part of the body in mouse) and was observed the frequency of writhing syndrome, paw licking time and escape time in according to density of Angelicae tenuissimae Radix extract solution, time course and locus.
The following results have been obtained:
1. In variation of density, the frequency of writhing syndrome was regarded as valuable, in the order of 0.3, 1.0 and 0.1§¢/20g and the most optimal dose of the Angelicae tenuissimae Radix extract solution to obtain the writhing syndrome was 0.3§¢/20g.
2. The frequency of writhing syndrome was significantly decreased 30 minutes and 60 minutes after an injection with Angelicae tenuissimae Radix extract solution.
3. The Writhing syndrome of the sample experimented by Angelicae tenuissimae Radix extract solution was meaningfully recognized in the aqua-acupuncture group on Chung-Wan(CV_(12)) locus, Chok-Samni(ST_(36)) locus and Chung-Wan(CV_(12)) and Chok-Samni(ST_(36)) loci, and the aqua-acupuncture group on Chung-Wan(CV_(12)) and Chok-Samni(ST_(36)) loci showed a most significantly inhibitive effect.
4. The paw licking time with the hot plate was significantly recognized in the aqua-acupuncture group on Chung-Wan(CV_(12)) locus, Chok-Samni(ST_(36)) loci, the escape time was significantly recognized in the aqua-acupuncture group on Chung-Wan(CV_(12)) and Chok-Samni(ST_(36)) loci, Chung-Wan(CV_(12)) locus.
According to the above results, it was concluded that aqua-acupuncture with Angelicae tenuissimae Radix extract solution showed significant analgesic effect.
